AN 18-YEAR-OLD man and a 20-year-old man have been charged over Hobart's latest drive-by shooting which saw a 17-year-old Glenorchy youth rushed to hospital with shotgun pellet wounds to his upper body on Wednesday night.
The Greater Hobart residents were arrested late yesterday afternoon on Hobart’s Eastern Shore. A white van allegedly used in the 7pm shooting was also seized from an Eastern Shore property.
Detective acting Inspector Craig Joel said the men were interviewed before being charged just after midnight this morning in relation to the Elwick Rd shooting.
He thanked members of the Glenorchy community for coming forward with information which police say was of assistance in the fast-moving investigation.
Meanwhile, no arrests have been made in relation to the drive-by shooting at a Bridgewater home on Sunday. No one was injured but a house and car were sprayed with pellets and the residents inside narrowly avoided being hit through the kitchen window.
