2008年就有个新机构 RTA专门管理此类事物
理论上 房东 包括二房东 不允许私自收BOND 所有的BOND都必须交付RTA保管 在合约期满以后由RTA交还房客
The Residential Tenancies Authority administers the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 (the Act) and is responsible to the Minister for Community Services and Housing and Minister for Women. It is a self-funding statutory authority, which operates on income generated from interest earned on bonds held.
The Act applies to people renting flats, houses, caravans, units, townhouses, mobile homes and houseboats in private, public and community-managed rental accommodation. The Act also covers residents and providers of supported accommodation such as hostels, aged care and boarding houses.
The RTA is directed by a seven-member Board comprising a Chairperson and six directors.
The RTA assists tenants, lessors, agents, residents and providers in the following key ways:
* Rental bond service: The RTA holds and refunds rental bond money that is paid by tenants to lessors/agents.
* Tenancy information and education: The RTA offers free information to all tenants, lessors, agents, residents and providers in Queensland.
* Dispute Resolution Service: The RTA's Dispute Resolution Service offers information about tenancy law, a telephone "shuttle" negotiation service, and conciliation conferences.
* Investigations Unit: The RTA will investigate and prosecute offences under the legislation when appropriate.
所有此类问题 可以诉诸RTA解决 让恶房东无所遁形
在TAS :
From 1st July 2009, the Rental Deposit Authority (RDA) will hold bonds on behalf of tenants and property owners/agents. See the information sheets below for how to lodge your bond. If you have a current lease and renew or extend it after the 1st July 2009, then this is when you must lodge your bond with the RDA. Other existing bonds are not affected.
