TIGER Airways Australia launches its second daily service between Melbourne and Hobart today.
Tiger Airways has been flying into Hobart since January 2008, but has previously had just one service a day.
It also flies to Adelaide four times a week.
Tiger Airways Australia managing director Shelley Roberts said it was doubling the number of flights on its popular Melbourne-Hobart route in response to demand.
Hobart Airport CEO Brett Reiss congratulated the airline on the move.
"Hobart Airport has a great partnership with Tiger Airways and is looking forward to extending that even further into the future," he said.
Tiger Airways has already carried nearly 200,000 passengers between Hobart and Melbourne.
To celebrate the new Melbourne flights Tiger is offering two airfares for $50 for two passengers travelling together.
The sale starts today and runs until February 11 or until sold out and is for travel in February and March this year.
