Hi Ada,
I think the unexpected inconveniences is due to the H1N1 pandemic which occured a few months ago. For a normal seasonal flu, all you need to do is go to your GP (general physician) and they'll prescribe suitable medications for you. Normally doctors here will not give you any antibiotics because it's better off for your immune system to fight off the bacteria. But it seems to me your condition has worsened. As there is a triage system at the emergency department in the hospital where they catagorise you according to the severity of your illness, they would priorise life threatening cases and you'd have to wait for a long time for a doctor to see you. Another alternative is to attend the after hours clinic during weekends or make an appointment with your GP during weekdays. Once you are familiar with how the health care system works, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to see a doctor to find out what illness you have. Hope my advice will come in handy for you in the future!:) |
